I was not alive when Sputnik started the Space Race, or when Yuri Gagarin first orbited the Earth. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had walked upon the moon, leaving their footprints for all to see in the eternity to come. Theirs was a legacy meant for all Mankind. |

I was not alive when Mankind first took that giant leap toward the stars. I was born in June 1971; over a year since the near-tragedy of Apollo 13 and a year and a half before those final steps of Apollo 17. |

This Web Site is for those who not only still look to the stars, but to the future as well. It is designed to tell, in the words of those directly involved, just what happened when Mankind first ventured forth to the heavens and beyond. |
Buzz Aldrin has said, "To me the most important part of the mission was what happened in the minds of the people who witnessed that event. They will never forget that. We won't either. But something very important happened and it wasn't up on the moon. It was the realisation that humanity could do those kind of things."
I need you to if you would like to share your own personal experiences and memories of the Space Race... where were you when Man first walked on the moon?
