Ad Astra - To The Stars!
launch site

we choose to go to the moon
Launch Site Emblem I was not alive when Sputnik started the Space Race, or when Yuri Gagarin first orbited the Earth. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had walked upon the moon, leaving their footprints for all to see in the eternity to come. Theirs was a legacy meant for all Mankind.
Aldrin & Lunar Module I was not alive when Mankind first took that giant leap toward the stars. I was born in June 1971; over a year since the near-tragedy of Apollo 13 and a year and a half before those final steps of Apollo 17.
US Flag This Web Site is for those who not only still look to the stars, but to the future as well. It is designed to tell, in the words of those directly involved, just what happened when Mankind first ventured forth to the heavens and beyond.

the stars are my home

Buzz Aldrin has said, "To me the most important part of the mission was what happened in the minds of the people who witnessed that event. They will never forget that. We won't either. But something very important happened and it wasn't up on the moon. It was the realisation that humanity could do those kind of things."

I need you to mail me if you would like to share your own personal experiences and memories of the Space Race... where were you when Man first walked on the moon?

Updated Sunday 29th August, 1999: Well, it's been a little while... (about a month) - I lost everything off my hard drive and then I got caught up with my job-hunting... but I've started Ad Astra again with pages for Neil Armstrong and Dave Scott. The Biographies page has also been updated.
