Drama Workshop: Ideas For Teaching DramaThis site has now moved to:http://www.dramateachers.co.ukThis site contains my own collection of ideas I have used for teaching drama both in Theatre Workshop contexts for Youth Theatre Groups and for developing spoken language skills in classrooms across a variety of age and ability ranges. Encouraging the development of self-confidence through role play and dramatic improvisation is a major feature of the approach used. The ideas are classified according to theme, but the individual teacher will need to decide which activities will relate most appropriately to the needs of a specific group. Many of the activities were designed to incorporate the needs of a wide age and ability range in Youth Theatre Workshops. The level of experience a group has in terms of improvisation work has a strong bearing on the choice of activity. Please feel free to use the activities in your drama teaching, but kindly respect the copyright considerations.
