Do you want to liven up your party with some live music? then *Sham - Rock* Irish traditional, Scottish traditional, Barn dance, Ceili, Ceilidh, Celtic Band are the band for you. They are for hire for all occasions; weddings, funerals, divorces, or any kind of party or Ceili, Ceilidh, in fact any kind of occasion at all.
The definition of a Ceili, Ceilidh, is an informal Celtic social gathering playing Irish traditional or Scottish traditional music, the singing of songs and the reading of poetry. This doesn't mean that only Scottish or Irish people can enjoy a Ceili, Ceilidh (English barn dance) or that it has to be informal. *Sham - Rock* Ceili, Ceilidh and barn dance band will play at any function you would like to organise or as Ceili, Ceilidh are classified as "informal" any function you would like to disorganise.
Scottish traditional and Irish traditional Ceili's, Ceilidh's usually include a caller. A caller is someone who directs the dancing at a barndance or Ceili, Ceilidh, calling for both traditional Irish dancing and traditional Scottish dancing. A good caller can direct dancing for beginners and advanced dancers and will make any party or barn dance really enjoyable. We supply a caller if requested for your Ceili, Ceilidh or barndance. You'll be surprised how easy and enjoyable Irish traditional and Scottish traditional dancing is with a caller.
Another feature of a Ceili, Ceilidh, is everybody joining in, so you can all brush up on your Irish traditional and Scottish traditional songs including pop and jazz as our guitarist is a first class accompanist. Don't forget to brush up your poetry and stories. It all adds to the fun. Our guitarist/singer's name is Ken Bodden and he is one of the best on the Ceili, Ceilidh, Irish traditional, Scottish traditional circuit. Dave Brooks is one of the best flautist and bagpipers on the Ceili, Ceilidh, Irish traditional, Scottish traditional circuit and with an excellent fiddle and acoustic bass player Paul Makdonna and drummer, bodhran players, Mark Coldrick and/or Glen (The Child) Colson form *Sham - Rock* Irish traditional, Scottish traditional, Ceili, Ceilidh, Celtic, barndance band. Dave Brooks can also include a performance of the "Green Man" (see website) at your function.
