FS-BERLIN ARCHIVE - Classic RAF Brit Props in Berlin-Gatow

In the meantime FS designers have created several Classic RAF Brit Props
for FS2002 which were used to Berlin-Gatow from the 1940's to the 1970's.
These models can be used very well in our new Gatow scenery.

Avro York
Altogether more than two hundred examples of the Avro York served with the RAF to the Berlin Airlift where they were used to Berlin-Gatow. The first 12 aircraft arrived at the airlift base at Wunsdorf on the evening of  July 1. 1948 under the command of Wing Commander G.F.A. Skelton. During the Berlin blockade the York was the main carrier of the RAF.

This FSDS model is designed by Arik Hohmeyer (FS-Design Berlin).

Handley Page Hastings
The Hastings was put into service in November 1948 and it was the largest plane the RAF used during the Berlin Airlift. Its large cargo space was badly needed. The Hastings was deployed at the "Schleswigland" airfield in Schleswig-Holstein. First there were 7, then after January 1949 14, and from July 1949 onwards 24 planes flying to Berlin-Gatow, mainly to bring in coal. After the end of the Berlin blockade the Hasting were still used to Gatow until the 1970's. Today one of 5 survived aircrafts is placed in the Allied Museum in Berlin.

This brand new gmax model is designed by D-GHHH simulationware.

This new FSDS2 model by Rick Piper is still under construction (since May 2003). And we hope that it will be finished soon.
