The Bank Bar Charity Dundee Quiz night was a
roaring success and all those who took part thoroughly enjoyed the evening with
the occasional interlude music, from the Official Dundee CD and the Jump the Q
CD playing in the background.
It's only fair to say that Cup Fever had
definitely hit town last night. The quiz was the idea of Paul Murphy the
Manager of the Bank Bar and from a small idea it certainly took the imagination
of the Dundee fans with a Team from the Aberdeen Dark Blues including the
Official Dundee Website Editor David Young and the well travelled Andy Boyack up
from Wigan in Rod Miller-Kelly's Dee-Licious Team. In fact it was a little
bit of a reunion as if you include myself as Quiz Master 3 of the Dundee team
which represented the Club on the "Do I Not Know That" Quiz were back together
again, though in different teams and roles. Simon O'Brien I now appreciate
how hard it is being a quiz master.
Though the evening was a fun charity fund raiser
there was still the serious part of who was going to be the Champions regarding
their Knowledge of Dundee Football Club. Obviously the friendly rivalry
between Andy and David added that little edge to the quiz, but it was far from
being a Two Team race. The Trades House Team of the Two Hairy's and Two
Baldy's made a great fight of it after a slow start to finish joint 2nd with the
Dee-Licious Team. The overall winners by a four points and a very
creditable score of 50 points from a total of 60 were the Aberdeen Dark Blues.
A special mention has to go to the Boar's Rock
Dark Blues for being the only Team to score a maximum 10 points in any one
round.

After the Quiz entry fees and the raffle money, plus the
generous donation from the Dees Down South, who couldn't make the quiz but
wanted to help the worthy cause was collated, a Grand total of £188 was raised
for the Dundee FC Romanian Budimex appeal. It's hoped this total will be
past £200 by the day of the Cup Final.
This Website Editor is glad to say Dundee are already on a
winning start before the Final with their charity work not only with the Budimex
appeal but the MS Scotland appeal also.
