Ivano Born Brescia age 36

Ivano started his playing career 18 years ago, with his Local team of Brescia. He’s played at the highest Level in Serie A, with Italian Clubs Atalanta, Bologna, Genoa, Torino, Juventus and Sampdoria.

He then surprised everyone by being the first Italian to play in the English Leagues back in October 1995. The surprise being he signed for 1st division Grimsby Town, where he became a cult figure.

He then went onto have spells with Tranmere Rovers and Crystal Palace, before returning to his homeland. Where he joined up with his brother Dario Manager of Italian 5th Division side Sestrese. Their roles have now reversed where Dario is now assistant to Ivano, at Dens.

Let’s hope it’s a long and successful partnership at the helm of Dundee FC. As between them Ivano and Dario have won 2 Italian League Championships, 2 Super Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 1 UEFA Cup and 4 Italian Cups.

Ivano has decided to hang up his boots for Season 2001/2002 Season, so he can concentrate fully on the Team and signings.
