He still seems to be having a go at Dundee fc even today (25/01) ,and personally I think his Billy big time attitude will trip him up again in the future.
I see his future as being an average player in an average team, not exactly the big time move he was hoping for bearing in mind his unsuccessful trials down south.
Who`s place at Dens today would you sacrifice for Boyack?.....I didn`t think so.
My View
Maybe now, when Boyack finally leaves, the ghost will finally be put to
rest by the Press.
Yes Boyack was a great signing for £25,000 from Rangers. He
entertained, in an honest workmanlike side, but with no flair. (Boyack
was the flair) for 2 months then he got lazy when he knew he was an
automatic choice for the team sheet.
Maybe I'm wrong but the same guys that get on Arteros back are probably
the same guys that got on Boyacks back also, when he decided he didn't
want to be workmanlike along side his team mates.(No slate on Artero
intended, just an observation at some sections of our support)
Even Jocky noticed this and finally dropped him. Notice at no time were
Notts County ever in the hunt for his signature? (£50,000 too much?)
I'm sure if any Team were to match Hearts offer outwith the SPL Boyack
would be going to them. The truth is Hearts are the only team willing to
take the gamble, plus his price is right!
I'm sure the Hearts fans will sing Boyacks praises the first couple of
months, on what a signing they have acquired (as we all did including
me), at this stage of the season when he signed for us, sound familiar.
Maybe I'm doing Steven an injustice, but come the end of the season will
he still have his ambition to keep running, when he realizes, he's joined a club in a
similar predicament he had signed for previously. (No money and
average workmanlike players around him.)
Boyack left Rangers for reasons we don't really know. No chance of
first team football under a foreign coach? Was he really willing to
work and wait his time, he was only 22? Was he as big a mouth at
Rangers as he was reputed to be at Dens?
Boyack left Dundee for reasons we don't really know. No chance of first
team football under a foreign coach? Was he really willing to work and
wait his time, ala Gavin Rae?
All we know was he refused to extend his contract so was put in the
wilderness. The manager was slated for this by the press. Let's be
honest, who wants a player who thinks he's better, than he is. He wanted
to go at the end of his contract anyway. Bosman was created to protect
the players, but when a player is still under contract how can he cry
foul?
As far as I can see Caniggia has honoured his contract and now has
extended it. He must be such a poor player compared to Steven Boyack
thinking Dundee is the place to stay.
I'll be curious to hear what the real Hearts fans think come the end of
the season about "Mr.Steven do you expect me to run for that Boyack".
My own personal opinion of Mr. Boyack who has not come out smelling
of roses throughout this whole affair, is good ridance to an unsettling influence.
Yes he had potential and could have became a great player, if he had the humility to
wait his chance, but he has blown it and missed the Dundee Dream team. Maybe he will
have learnt from his experiences at both Rangers and Dundee and become a consistant
performer for Hearts. Only time will tell, but it maybe difficult to change the habits, he's
obviously had throughout his short career so far.
I for one wont fear playing Hearts because, Steven's in their team. Remember what a
success Jim Hamilton was with Hearts?
