This is an interview carried out by Robert Laird, Editor of “Boab’s little piece of Scotland” Website with Colin Brown Season 2005/06 Predictions Joint Winner.

RL:- What’s your full name?

         Colin Graham Brown

RL:- what’s your age?

         46

RL:-How long have you been a Dundee fan?

        41 years – I was a slow starter!

RL:-Do you have a preferred area at Dens you like to sit at?

I used to always go to the Derry (sorry, South Enclosure), but now that my daughter comes to the games with me    we go to the Bobby Cox (better toilets)

RL:- Are you a Member of any Supporter Club?

         No

RL:-Are you married?

        Yes
RL:- Do you have kids?

Yes, my son Adam (21) and daughter Karis (18)

RL:-Have you brainwashed your kids to being Dee’s also?

Daft question, of course I have. Adam was easy, but it took a bit longer to get Karis hooked. She’s only been following the Dee for the last 4 years or so.

RL:-Does your wife bother the fact you follow Dundee everywhere?

No. In fact she insisted that Adam and I went to Perugia, and I quote “It might be the only chance you’ll ever get to follow them into Europe”

RL:-You must spend a fortune watching Dundee has there ever been a time where you’ve thought is it worth it anymore?

Must admit, yes I have – for most of last season!

RL:-Do you have a set routine before each game?

Other than wearing the same socks, pants, spinning round 3 times and spitting. Only joking, no I’ve no fixed routine.

RL:-Do you go to the games with the same people each week?

As a kid there was always the same group of us went together. However our paths have diverged and now I just go with my daughter (my son’s work means he can’t make it along these days, and truth be told I think he’s losing faith L )

RL:-What’s been your most memorable experience following Dundee apart from winning the Predictions Competition on this site?

I’ll never forget the singing in the square in Perugia, but I’ve also got vivid memories of the Scottish cup replay against Hibs when we had 30000+ inside Dens, the atmosphere was fantastic – and we won 3-0.

RL:-What’s been your most forgettable experience?

I’ve seen us relegated more times than I care to remember, but probably my worst game was the League Cup final at Dens against “them”. We lost, it was freezing and snowing and I was in the uncovered TCK end. That was the only game that my wife has ever attended – she’s still thawing out.

RL:-What’s been your most humorous experience whilst following the Dee?

My memory isn’t that good; you don’t get many laughs as a Dee these days.

RL:-Who’s been your favourite player to wear the Dark Blue in all your time as a Dundee fan?

It was fantastic to see some of the foreign legion who played for us recently, particularly “The Bird”, but my all time favourite has to be Jocky Scott.

RL:-If you were the Dundee Manager who would you sign?

There’s a wee lad at the end of our street who looks half decent. Given our finances he’s probably about all we can afford – but then again once he gets to age 10 he’ll probably be out of our price range. If money was no issue I’d sign, hmmmm….let’s see – the whole Chelsea team.

RL:-Who’s your current favourite Dundee player?

In our current team of average players, I’d have to say Bobby Mann. He always gives 100% and has saved us on numerous occasions.

RL:-What was the highlight of the season you’ve just experienced?

         The fact that it finished!

RL:-Do you believe we still have a future?

I’d like to say that “the future’s bright the future’s NOT orange”, but in all honesty I’m not sure. Unless we get some major investment in the club I suspect that any future that we do have may be as a 1St Division team.

RL:-How do you get most of your information about the club, is it from the News, the Official Website or the many unofficial Websites?

I’m a regular visitor to the official website and of course I believe everything I read in The Courier.

RL:-How many points did you think you’d get before the season started last season?

What’s the maximum that I could have gotten? Obviously I expected to be 100% correct J

RL:-Do you think your Predictions this season will let you hold onto your title as Top Pundit?

Can but hope. Is there anyway to transfer I points that I do get to the club so that they can move a bit higher up the league (Surely with your influence Bob you can arrange this).
