Season 2003-2004 league Predictions

The Fans voice.

David kerr, gives his Verdict on the clubs and players to look out for in 2003/04.

Having done not TOO badly for an amateur punter last season, I see no need to wrack my brains too much for this season

David Kerr (Bermuda)

Here we go again:-

SPL Positions:-

1: Celtic:-
:because they're quite honestly a class ahead of anyone else for sheer consistency and don't seem to have many backroom squabbles to upset the apple cart.

2: Rangers:-
:because nobody else (except Celtic) can match them for financial backing and sheer volume of support.

3: Aberdeen:-
:because they seemed to be getting it together last season and don't really have any serious competition in that part of the country (yet!).

4: Hearts:-
:Who I fear will finish above Dundee and restore bragging rights to my best mate Kenny Melville because they're basically too powerful a squad, with too much support, to be classed as a "poor" team.

5: Hibs:-
:who will do much better than last season simply because they can't afford not to!

6: :Dunfermline:
who proved time and again last season that they're nobody's mugs.

7: Livvy:-
:who I think will struggle a bit now that the novelty of being the "new kids on the block" has worn off.

8: Dundee:-
:who I'd love to see doing much better than eighth, but who have to stop losing games they should at least have drawn and drawing games they could have won.

9: Killie:-
:who I just have the feeling will find this a difficult season.

10: Partick Thistle:-
:who, much as I like their style, I just can't see being this season's Livvy and will do well just to survive.

11: Dundee United:-
:Them lot across the road, who need the smiles wiped off their faces after putting it across us in some acts of daylight robbery last season!

12: Motherwell:-
:who I'm afraid have a long, hard season ahead of them, and will do well not to be in the cellar by New Year.

Top goalscorer? Difficult to see past Henrik Larsen, isn't it? Give him 23 in the league this coming season, and 30 altogether.

The Cups? Aberdeen to beat Hearts in the CIS, and Rangers to beat Aberdeen in the Scottish.

Last Four? Aberdeen, Rangers, Hearts and Dunfermline in the CIS, and Aberdeen, Hibs, Rangers and Celtic in the Scottish.

Final thoughts? Having supported Dundee since 1955 I sincerely hope they do much better than I've predicted, but I must confess that I'm not optimistic. However, I'd really LOVE to be proved wrong!

Much as I'd love to see a good UEFA Cup run, I honestly don't think we have the strength in depth to go too far. I can't see us getting any further than the fourth round, max. However, I'd love to be proved wrong!

Final final thoughts? Thank goodness this isn't costing me any money because, with my predicitions record for various things over the decades, I'd never see any return for it!

C'way the DEEEEEEEEEEEE!
