North American Dundee Fans Raise Almost £700 For Dee 4 Life

Robert Laird hands over the NADSC Cheque for £680.44 to Scott Glenday the Dee4Life Representative at the South Enclosure

When Dundee were first plunged into the uncertainty of  administration the Exiles in the North American Continent were adamant to show their support for the Club they loved and decided to try raise some money.  I don’t think they ever thought their small band of fans would have managed the total they finally reached.

As the old saying goes from small acorns, large oaks grow.   The fact every Dundee Supporters Club has had its members working tirelessly to raise money has shown the desire the fans have to keep this great club alive and it’s fine history going and why the Dee 4 Life campaign has been hailed as the best organisation of it’s kind regarding organisation and fund raising within such a short period of time.  This was something which could not have been achieved without every Dundee fan and other fans that had contributed.

The NADSC started their campaign by sending all their Funds over from their original members and started a Membership drive which has seen their membership almost double, all this money was also collated into the central fund.  The NADSC know there are still potential members out there and hope that when they see what can be achieved by only a small band of Supporters when they organise and get together, these Mavericks may also decide to join and see if they can also make a difference.

The NADSC now stretches from the East Coast of Canada to the Mid-west of Canada, from the East Coast of America, New York down to Orlando and then across from Florida to Texas and California.  Each member has done their part in trying to raise further money.

Celtic Supporters Clubs were visited and helped raise money in Texas, Rangers Supporters Clubs visited in Toronto, bars in New York, so even Scottish exiles from other Clubs were willing to help our Club in times of need.

A signed Dundee Shirt was also raffled which raised another couple of hundred pounds to the cause plus the DSA raffle ticket money which the NADSC managed to sell 200 tickets.  It’s amazing how all the little things add up and no wonder why the Dee 4 Life campaign has been so successful.

The North American D.S.C are now the first Life Members to the Dee 4 Life Trust with £300 of their Donation going to the Dee 4 Life Trust as a Supporters Club.  This will give all NADSC members in the future a right to vote at their AGM to decide how their shared vote will be cast for their views regarding the Dee 4 Life Trust and hopefully the future running of Dundee Football Club.
