My View

I don't believe it's wise at this current time, to sell a player of Wilkie's ability at a bargain price to Sheffield Wednesday, or any English Team waiting in the wings for a bargain. If we do sell Lee I hope it's for a realistic fee. Though I'd like to think things between him and Ivano could be patched up.

Granted Lee probably has been a little upset at not being a regular in the first team. Though, he is young enough to eventually make it, if he had the patience to bide his time and learn from seasoned professionals. After all De Marchi and Dario, have played at the top levels in Europe, at the heart of defence.

It may be a little naive of Lee, or his agent being in too much of a rush to make money out of a Lee transfer, that he has decided to start voicing his opinions to his bosses.

We will never know the full story, but it doesn't matter in what job you are in, if you don't do as your boss tells you, you are in trouble. We have all probably been guilty of it ourselves at some time. It all depends on the your reaction at being told off, which counts. Either you take it on the chin, realise the errors of your ways and take the critisism, even learn from the experience, or you make yourself feel better in the short time and voice your opinion back.

There is a time and place though to do this and if it was on the Training pitch, then this certainly wouldn't be the time or place. If you are to have a fall out with your boss it should always be in private, as the last thing any boss will tolerate is being undermined in front of his peers.

Hopefully this situation can be settled amicably and not end up like the Boyack situation where he came across as a premadonna in the press. It has to be said that Lee has been mature so far in the way he has remained tight lipped, after all it is he and Ivano who must work this out, not the press.

Ivano has to take into account Lee's age, desire to play and inexperience in the ways of modern football.

Lee must also accept that what his boss says is final and there's nothing that he can do to change that. He should know he would get another chance eventually, look at Gavin Rae, Willie Falconer and even Shaun McSkimming, they have all been patient and took their chances when the opportunities arose.

Chris Coyne is the perfect example of a player waiting his time. We never heard of him moaning about not getting a game, at least not publicly. Even our top goal scorer wasn't getting a regular start, Juan Sara never publicly complained either. We the fans were all waiting to see 'Beto' and what he could do giving a full game, as fans we had to be patient, so what made Lee think he was a special case? Ivano obviously has his own moral and disciplinary code, which everyone has to abide by, who are we to judge his standards, after all we are witnessing the most skillful football, I can remember being played at Dens.

I'm sure both of them can sort it out between them, but there has to be, if not give and take, at least a mutual understanding of each others position. This can only be achieved if they talk to each other.
