A New Play by Bob Stone!

This play had its World Premiere at
The 38th Annual Lucilla One-Act Play Festival
in May 2003.

Would you like to be amongst the first to perform it? This play could be a winner for you too!

Bob Stone's new play, Crossing The Border, won the Edith Cassaday Shield for Endeavour at the 38th Annual Lucilla One-Act Play Festival in May 2003, the second of Bob's plays to win this Award at this Festival (see In After School).

Bob Stone & Kate Sumner show their Trophies

The play provides a vehicle for strong performances from the cast; indeed Kate Sumner, who played the 'Old Woman', won the Cecil C. Abbotson Trophy for Best Character Actress. Many in the audience were heard in the interval to admit that they had been very moved by the play, some of them to tears. The picture shows Bob and Kate Sumner with their Trophies. CROSSING THE BORDER

Drama
Cast 2m 2f
Simple set

The action of the play takes place on a stage empty apart from a bench.

The time could be the present day.

A man, a young woman and an old woman meet by chance on a railway station. As they talk, it seems as though they are all waiting for the same train, but do they really know why they are there, or how they got there?

Will the mysterious porter be able to tell them, or must they look for the answers in the dark secrets of their own pasts?
