Vic Skeats Memorial Clout Shoot

The Vic Skeats Memorial Clout Shoot is an open double one way clout shoot in memory of Vic a long time, well respected Lytchett archer who died in 2001.

In clout archery, the target (24 feet in diameter) consists of five concentric circular scoring zones which are outlined on the ground. The innermost circle of 18 inches in radius is worth five points, the next zone 3 feet in radius is worth 4 points, the next 6 feet is worth 3 points, the next 9 feet 2 points and the outer zone 12 feet in radius scores 1 point. The centre of the target is marked by a brightly coloured flag 12 inches square set close to the ground.

Each archer shoots 36 arrows at the target, 9 score yards ( 180 ) away for the Gentlemen, 7 score ( 140 ) for the Ladies and Junior Gentleman with other shorter distances for younger Juniors.
