Private Thomas Taylor of the 8th Louisiana Infantry pictured in the uniform issued by his State in late 1861. He has an Enfield Cartridge box, US Cap box, round tin drum canteen on a leather strap and what looks to be an M1855 Maynard Primer Rifle Musket.
