Kipper's Corner

The latest in news and gossip, brought to you by Kipper, the Shetland with attitude!

Kipper is a three year old Shetland pony.  He lives with Alan and his good mate Armada Star.
If you have any hot gossip to pass on, contact Kipper by e-mailing Alan.
Free Competition:

Kipper will be making his debut at local shows this summer.  But he doesn't have a show name!  Since 'Kipper' is not very classy can you suggest a suitable name?  The best suggestion to reach us by the end of this term will win a special prize!

The latest news from the horse's mouth:

Well, thanks, Chester College Equestrian Club, for adopting me as your mascot.  Sorry I couldn't make it to the Freshers' Fayre, but my Mum got the horse box bogged down in the mud on the farm.  Since then we've moved closer to Chester and Armada and I have got eight acres to graze.  It's a tough job, but we'll do our best.  Anyway, I'll definitely come down to see you soon, but you are all welcome to come and see us - there's plenty of grooming, feeding, mucking out, more feeding to do!  Apparently you are all invited to come up in May for a barbecue to celebrate the end of term and as a farewell party for all the members who are leaving.

FOR SALE:  One pair of Ariat yard boots.  Size 4 and a half.  Hardly worn £15.

Runaway leader in the falling off awards.

Catherine Browne, the defending champion for the past two years, is well in the lead with five falls so far this year.  And I thought she was a good rider!  She's even come off Ginger!  Bet she couldn't stay on me for two minutes!  The latest news is that at the Equus Horse Show in London this Easter she fell off the plastic polo pony simulator.  Hope she wasn't wearing her Chester College gear at the time - we've enough embarassments as it is!

Stable to fill

Since there is only two of us and four paddocks and nine stables, there's plenty of room to put up your horse if you decide to bring one to Chester or get one on loan.  Oh, and there's a spare room in the cottage if you need a home for next year.  Very cheap and only 12 miles from College!
