6th May:
BangerBet Week 12 - Arena Essex 9th May 2004 - Sierra & Cavalier Bangers Arena's first Sierra and Cavalier meeting on 28th March attracted 55 cars, of which 21 were Sierras (inc Sapphires and Estates) and 34 were Cavaliers.
At the time the programme went to print on 27th April, 42 bangers in total were booked in for the second such meeting on 9th May. Question 1: How many bangers do you think will race at the meeting on Sunday 9th May?
1. less than 30
2. 31 - 35
3. 36 - 40
4. 41 - 45
5. 46 - 50
6. 51 - 55
7. 56 - 60
8. 61 or more

Question 2: Which model will be most numerous at that meeting?
1. Cavalier
2. Sierra
3. Same amount of each (long shot for those risk-takers among you!)
Please give your answers by 12.30pm on Sunday 9th May and note that only cars that actually take the start of a race will be counted.
The answers to Week 11 were as follows, Question 1, 22 Dave Vincent won the final at the Mildenhall Big Van meeting, Question 2, an impressive 62 cars raced at the Bristol Mendips Thunderbolt and Question 3, the Condoms won the Arena Team Qualifer 2. Thanks to Neil Fox of the Well Bent! banger website for this weeks questions www.wellbent.cjb.net

22nd April:
We have now had the result for WEEK 8 - Boneshaker V at Westworld - Question 2 which was Choice 8: 121 - 125 (127 cars were present, but 3 didn't race, so 124 did!), there were 6 people who managed to get the correct choice.
It now means there are FIVE people sharing the lead! Anyone noticed last years winners & Neil Fox seem to be grouping up on the league table!
http://www.startrax.info/bangerbet.html Do they realise this is not team racing!! :-) Looking at their score it's only a very average team though! Now there's an idea.....why NOT have team racing, anyone interested so far? We could have combined scores of four people in a named team (keep the name clean!), for a separate league table & Championship.....if there's enough interest. Anyone interested please forward your team names (and names of four people that play or will play BangerBet) on any of the participating forums or e-mail them to bangerbet@thedemons.co.uk by the 31st May and if there's enough interest we'll go ahead with it. The same questions would be used for both individuals and teams, the points for four of any particular named team would be added together. There must be four people in a team...not one person having four choices etc! Let us know your thoughts on this forum.... The prize? Lets put the FOUR prizes from SPEDEWORTH (East Anglia) FOUR family Tickets (2 adults & up to 3 children) for BangerBet winners, one for each of their four biggest Banger events in 2005....The Swaffham Hurricane, The Ipswich Raid, The Ipswich Volcano and The Ipswich Fireball....as the prize for the winning team. If you're struggling to get a team together...just ask on the forum if anyone wants to join your team. Your thoughts?

20th February - Week 1

BangerBet 2004

First of all a BIG THANKS to all of you that took part in 'BangerBet' 2003. Congratulations to Last years winners:
REIGNING BANGERBET 2003 CHAMPION Johnnyboy, Jud & Pilk (joint 2nd) who all won Sony PlayStation.2 consoles. Can anybody stop these three from winning again?

After what seems a long layoff.... BangerBet returns, I hope we can get as many of you taking part as possible in 2004. It's free to enter and you have the chance to let everybody see how much you know about BANGER RACING and how good your predictions really are!

Sadly we're not being sponsored by Sony this year but we hope to have a few smaller prizes for those that manage to head the League Table at the end of the 2004 season. We may even have some prizes at different times through the season (depending on sponsorship support).

The first 'BangerBet' quiz for 2004 starts with the Northampton (see beow) HEARTBREAKER (2 Litre Bangers) meeting. Please support 'BangerBet' and lets see if we can get even more people taking part than we did in 2003.

Introduction

BangerBet 2004
So....you think you know all about Banger Racing? Well now's your chance to see how good you are at predicting the outcome of Banger Racing Events across the UK. Questions will be posed, hopefully this will be weekly and will cover most of the big Banger events in the UK and maybe other countries occasionally.

End of season prizes:
We are contacting potential 'BangerBet' sponsors and will inform you of prizes donated...should we get any! Anyone interested in sponsoring BangerBet please Email paul@ovalmotorsport.fsnet.co.uk

How do you play?
You don't have to book in, you don't have to get an ORC licence, you don't even have to pay to play, The downside is you don't get any start money either!! Don't worry if you're a 'NO SHOW' occasionally, we won't hold it against you.

You can enter the quiz on four sites at the moment....the "Well Bent" forum, "CrashZone" (by Email), the "Startrax.info" forum (which you're on now) and the "Demons Race Team" forum.u read this on a Forum/Bulletin Board, you can add your choice here All you have to do is read the questions posed, either send your answer to bangerbet@thedemons.co.uk .....or leave your answer on the forum where you read the question. Your forum user name or Email name will then be added to the BangerBet League Table with any points scored for correct predictions. It's just a bit of a laugh, but it will be interesting to see if anybody can defeat the REIGNING 2003 BANGERBET CHAMPION Johnnyboy!

If you want to check where you are in the league at any time click here http://www.startrax.info/bangerbet.html
Good luck and have fun.
