AWARDS ~ Jennifer Garner was a winner at the 59th Annual Golden Globe Awards last Sunday, January 20th! So was Alias at the People's Choice Awards the week before for Favorite New Television Drama Series. I did not catch the entire coverage for both events, but am fairly sure our man was not in attendance.... Wherefore art thou Edward??

CAROLINA ~ No word yet as to when Carolina will be released, but I started to come across more information on the net about the movie, so decided to start a preliminary Carolina page.

ALIAS UK ~ Finally some good news for those of you across the pond...Sky TV has picked up Alias as part of their winter lineup! The premiere episode will air on Wednesday, January 23rd at 9PM, on Sky One. So don't miss out on Danny....he's awfully sweet! (So was Paula for sending me this info from the UK - Thanks!)

December 2001

GOLDEN GLOBES ~ The nominations are in and Alias is among the Best TV Drama Series along with Jeniffer Garner for Best Actress in a Leading Role - Drama Series. I had hoped The Mists would fare better than it did, but only Julianna Margulies was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role - TV Miniseries or Movie. For the complete list, see The Golden Globe's page.

THE SEX SHOW ~ That's the name of the Once and Again episode Edward has guest starred in! It aired on ABC on November 30th, but if you missed it (join the club!!), the episode will mercifully air again on Lifetime this Friday, December 7th at 11:00PM. And if you want to stay up and have an Edward-fest (or should that be -feast!) that night, ABC will be airing Far Harbor at 1:35AM (12/8); though check your local TV schedule for exact times, as those above are for the East coast.
(Once again I owe it to Bethany for the Once and Again alert!)

And yes, Danny did a 'do-not-dare-blink-if-you-want-to-see-me' appearance on Alias last Sunday (11/25)! See my Alias page for a tad more and to see a couple of pix! (I'm still having a hard time saying goodbye to Danny!! But they're NOT bringing him back, are they?)

November 2001

DANNY REDUX ~ The rumours may not be just rumours after all... Here's the paragraph from a Zap2it.com news article: "Heading into November sweeps, the spy series (Alias), starring Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber and Michael Vartan, will feature a number of upcoming guests including Elaine Kagan ("Traffic" ), Miguel Sandoval ("Get Shorty" ) and the return of Edward Atterton, who played Sydney Bristow's fiancé in the show's first episode, before being promptly killed." No clues yet as to how many episodes or what the story line may be....
(My thanks go to Bethany, owner of Alias-Online, for this interesting update).

WOW!! Is this really Edward???
According to Hallmark it is! Here's the caption from Hallmark's November Entertainment Newsletter: "Caroline Harker and Edward Atterton star as the Chinese Princess and the Chinese Emperor from the famous Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, 'The Nightingale,' in Hallmark Entertainment's Hans Christian Andersen: My Life as a Fairy Tale. In telling the life story of one of history's greatest storytellers, Hallmark Entertainment successfully and seamlessly interweaves landmark moments in Hans' life with imaginative and fantastical scenes from some of his greatest stories, including 'The Nightingale,' 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Snow Queen'."

I believe Edward is also playing 'Prince Christian,' as listed both on Hallmark's Cast List and also on his agent's page. This is definitely one to look forward to.... The Newsletter did not mention any air dates, but had listed the above under their "On Location" listing.

October 2001

PRINCE CHRISTIAN ~ That's the name of Edward's character in the upcoming TV mini-series Hans Christian Andersen: My Life as a Fairy Tale. Here's Hallmark's Offical Site. That's all I could find out for now....

OWN AVALON ~ No more watching the home made tapes! The Mists of Avalon is scheduled to be released on DVD and tape (VHS priced for rental market) on December 11th. All major on-line stores are accepting pre-orders. It would be interesting to see how high it’ll climb on Amazon’s sales rank (Today 10/25, it had gone up to 330's from yesterday's 550's!)

STILL'BORN IN BROOKLYN' ~ Not exactly breaking news, but ABC did not pick up the half-hour comedy show Born in Brooklyn, starring Edward. Here’s a bit I came across on-line about the pilot which was shot last spring:

"The Studios USA single-camera pilot Born in Brooklyn, written by Becky Mode, focuses on a young couple -- a busy book publisher (Maria Bello) and her lawyer husband (Edward Atterton) living in the borough are preparing for the birth of their first child. Fashion designer Izaac Mizrahi will play the head of public relations for a New York book publisher who is Bello's character's gay best friend and "work husband" of many years. Also cast in the pilot are Tamara Taylor (HBO's Introducing Dorothy Dandridge), who will play a young, upcoming book editor; Judith Light (Who’s the Boss) and comedian Jeff Ross." (March 30, 2001)

It would have been fun to watch Edward in a sitcom..... a lawyer living in Brooklyn no less..... I can’t say I’m not disappointed! [Click on image to see it full-size.]
