The Millennium Falcon
From outward appearances "a piece of junk," this Corellian freighter is one of the fastest and best equipped ships in the galaxy. The dilapidated exterior of the ship helps to avoid at least some Imperials and Customs entanglements. Beneath the skin of this heavily modified YT-1300 transport is a hyperdrive nearly twice as fast as any Imperial warship.

The well-armored Falcon has a top-of-the-line sensor array to detect distant Imperial ships before they ever notice the Falcon. There are shielded smuggling compartments throughout the interior. In combat, the Falcon sports a military-grade Imperial deflector-shield system, two quad laser cannons and a retractable light laser cannon.

Corellian YT-2000 Family transport
The Corellian YT-2000 Transport is an evolutionary development of the popular series of light freighters from the renowned shipbuilders of Corellia. At 29 meters length it bears an obvious family resemblance to its predecessor the YT-1300. Like the 1300, the 2000 is prized for its ready adaptability to a variety of duties .
The Otana is Tomaas Azzameen's personal ship and has been customized for speed and firepower due to the sometimes risky nature of the Twin Sun Transportation Services' business.

X-wing
One of the Rebel Alliance's most advanced fighters, the X-wing measures 12.5 meters from nose to engine block and takes its name from its pair of double-layered wings that are deployed into an X-formation for combat. Each wing tip carries an oversized long-range laser cannon and a pair of proton torpedo launchers are mounted midway up the main space-frame. An R2 astromech droid housed in a snug droid socket behind the pilot handles many in-flight operations, such as damage control, astronavigation and flight performance adjustment.

The X-wing is known for its durability, with a reinforced alloy hull and high-powered shield generators. It can normally take minor hits without a serious loss of performance, and has full ejection and life-support systems. X-wings have hyperdrive systems that add flexibility to their list of attributes.

Y-wing

Despite its age, this ship has been one of the mainstays of the Rebel Alliance. At 16 meters long, it is a multi-purpose ship designed as a compromise between an attack fighter and heavy bomber. The well-armed and durable Y-wing fighter-bombers can give and take a great deal of punishment, but they do not have the speed and maneuverability necessary to compete evenly with modern Imperial attack fighters.

The pilot controls a pair of forward laser cannons and the twin proton torpedo launchers. A turret-mounted ion cannon is directly behind the pilot, although the ion cannon is notoriously delicate and failure-prone. An astromech droid fits into the droid socket behind the cockpit and monitors all fight, navigation and power systems.

A-wing
A small, wedge-shaped craft, the A-wing fighter has quickly become a major element of the Alliance combat fleet. While originally designed for reconnaissance, the A-wing is proving more adept at hit-and-run missions, blasting enemy sites and spacecraft with twin, wing-mounted blaster cannons and concussion missiles.

The downside of the A-wing's speed and agility is its relatively high vulnerability in dogfights: The position of the cockpit and its lack of shielding leaves pilots exposed to enemy fire, making the craft's speed even more important.

B-wing

One of the Alliance's most heavily-armed starfighters, the B-wing, in effect, is one long, flat wing with an unusual rotating cockpit at one end, and one of the ship's three ion cannons at the other. About midway on the wing are two airfoils that extend out during combat, giving the ship the appearance of a cross. In addition to the ion cannons, there is a laser cannon mounted below the cockpit, two proton torpedo launchers and two small blaster cannons.

Designed to go head-to-head with much larger Imperial ships and disable them, the B-wing is also used for heavy assault strikes against Imperial facilities and as an escort for convoys.

YT-1300
The YT-1300 was once the standard for interstellar trade throughout the galaxy. Originally designed as a light freighter but now is more likely to be hauling small cargoes to specialty markets or smaller settlements. With a 100 metric ton cargo bay it can be operated by a crew of one, however a competent repairman or sharp shooting gunner often comes in handy.
Because it is easily modified adding more shielding, cargo space, weapons and hull plating makes it the choice for many traders and smugglers.

A stock YT-1300 comes with one quad laser cannon and one retractable light laser cannon and comes in at 26.7 meters in length.

Z-95 Headhunter
Once the most common starfighter in the galaxy but now unable to compete with the newer fighters, the Z-95 is now more often used by pirates or private companies than by the Rebel Alliance. However a few remain in Rebel hands for training and reconnaissance purposes. At 11.8 meters in length it has two laser cannons and is often equipped with concussion missiles. The Z-95 while being slower and less reliable than most of the
current Alliance fleet has contributed to its success by being the testing ground for most the systems which were refined to create the X-Wing

Tie Fighter
The TIE fighter is the most recognizable symbol of the Imperial Starfleet's control of space. TIE (Twin Ion Engine) fighters are aboard even the smallest cruisers and are stationed at starports and garrison bases across the galaxy. The TIE fighter is a small ship whose distinguishing feature is the pair of large hexagonal solar array wings on either side of its small, spherical cockpit pod. The ship presents a small profile and its great maneuverability makes it difficult to target in combat.

TIEs are short-range fighters lacking hyperdrives to save weight and increase performance. They depend on a home base--a nearby planet or Imperial cruiser. They carry two days' worth of supplies and must refuel after the first few hours of combat, but their massive quantities make up for any design deficiencies. The fighters are used for planetary and cruiser defense and assault against Rebel, pirate and alien vessels. They also escort heavily armed TIE bombers when attacking permanent planetary installations.

Each TIE has a pair of forward-mounted, fire-linked laser cannons. The powerful laser generators are in the undercarriage of the command pod and feed off the power generators and batteries. The fighter draws much of its energy from solar radiation absorbed by the array wings.

Tie Interceptor
Faster and more maneuverable than the standard TIE fighter, the TIE Interceptor is the legacy of advances developed for Darth Vader's TIE Advanced X1 Prototype. The TIE interceptor uses the standard TIE cockpit, drive pod and wing braces. The solar panels appear to be "dagger-shaped," making the interceptor far more intimidating, while giving the ship a smaller profile than the X1 which makes it harder to target.

The TIE interceptor has more powerful drives than the standard TIE, and is almost as fast as the Alliance's A-wing fighter. The TIE interceptor uses a new type of ion stream projector allowing pilots to execute tight turns and rolls. Twin-port deflectors can be manipulated individually for fine control and counter-balancing, making the TIE interceptor a superior choice for dogfights against Rebel ships.

The standard version of the ship has four laser cannons, one at the end of each solar panel (although experimental variants have included more), and advanced targeting equipment gives the pilot great firing accuracy. Like other TIE fighters, the interceptor has little armor plating and no shield generators. Interceptor pilots rely on their ship's maneuverability and superiority of numbers to survive engagements with better armed and armored Rebel fighters.

Tie Bomber
Unlike most TIE models, the TIE bomber is equipped with double pods and elongated solar panels. The starboard pod houses the pilot, flight computers, communications systems, and the vaunted life-support system. The port pod holds the ordnance bay, along with targeting and delivery systems. The TIE's signature twin ion engines> connect the two pods.

Although payload can vary depending upon mission profiles, a typical bomber carries dozens of missiles, bombs, mines, and thermal detonators for attack runs. In ship-to-ship combat, the bomber employs a pair of front-firing laser cannons.

TIE bombers have proven especially effective against capital ships in space. After standard TIE fighters weaken the target's defenses, the bombers use their precise targeting computers to disable vital areas such as the shield generators and engines. Once the enemy ship is crippled, Imperial boarding parties take control of the vessel and capture the Rebel troops for interrogation.

TIE bombers can also be deployed against space stations, orbital docking platforms, and facilities in planetary orbit. They are most efficient, however, during bombing runs on ground targets. TIE bombers boast incredibly precise targeting computers that allow the pilot to completely destroy a specific building without damaging surrounding structures.

Like standard TIE fighters, TIE bombers can be found aboard almost every Imperial space station and capital ship. A Star Destroyer typically carries one squadron of twelve TIE bombers, and most ground installations maintain a small complement of these craft.

Imperial Class Star Destroyer
The Imperial-class Star Destroyer has enough firepower to reduce a civilization to slag or take on a fleet of enemy vessels. Each carries a full stormtrooper division, complete with assault craft and ablative heat-shield for orbital drops, 20 AT-AT and 30 AT-ST walkers for ground assault, and six TIE fighter squadrons for escort and patrol.

An Imperial Star Destroyer is more than a weapons platform: because of the variety of its duties - planetary defense, planetary assault, and ship-to-ship combat - it must also be something of a space station, repair dock, and heavy transport as well. In addition to combat craft, an Imperial Star Destroyer carries eight Lambda-class shuttlecraft and many repair and recovery vehicles. Since they are not designed to enter planetary atmospheres, each Star Destroyer also carries 12 landing barges for crew and cargo transfer and for ground assault. Landing barges are shielded and armed, and carry up to four AT-AT's (or eight AT-STs) and 1,000 troops each. They can also haul the heavy weapons, supplies, and equipment required for planetary operations.

Many Star Destroyers carry complete pre-fabricated ground bases, which can be dropped and installed within days. When a base is deployed, the Star Destroyer dispatches 800 troops, 2,200 support personnel, 10 AT-ATs, 10 AT-STs, and 40 TIE fighters as a garrison.

Of course, space combat is their main duty, and Star Destroyers are well designed for it. Turbolasers and ion cannons are mounted in five-gun batteries. Each battery contains three turrets, two of which are double-mounted, and one single-mounted. The turrets can jointly target a single enemy ship to concentrate firepower, or fire independently to engage multiple targets.

However, the placement of the batteries is a weakness: there were few overlapping fields of fire at close range. While this is no great problem in actions against larger capital ship opponents, it is a drawback when fighting small and highly maneuverable ships, which can dart under the guns.

Super Class Star Destroyer

The personal flagship of Darth Vader, the Executor, is the Empire's first Super-class Star Destroyer. The Executor is over eight times the size of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

Such ships could be considered overkill, since a smaller vessel could fulfill its specific duties as a headquarters ship. But it effectively symbolizes the Emperor's unlimited power and resources.  The Executor is presented to Lord Vader shortly after the Battle of Yavin. It carries more than 1,000 weapons; two full wings of 144 TIE fighters and 200 other combat and support ships; 38,000 ground stormtroopers; and enough garrison bases and Imperial walkers to destroy any Rebel base.
