WE WILL NOT LOOK AWAY! EMW
Equine DentistryCampaign
Hanne's new big project is that she wants to be able to do more free dentistry work
for rescue horses and other horses in need that would otherwise be without.
To do this she needs some help with this to fund expenses of medication and wear on
instruments.
So I am appealing to people to donate a few dollars/pounds for this good cause. There are a lot of very painful and potentially dangerous conditions that can occur in the horse's mouth and also the consequenses for the horse that can't chew their feed properly.
Abused and neglected animals are usually deprived of veterinary attention all together due to ignorance or economical difficulties, and Hanne would like to do her part to help these poor animals.
If you want to donate £1/$1 or more, you can do it online on Hanne's web site

The Wild Horse Sanctuary appeal
The Wild Horse Sanctuary at http://www.wildhorsesanctuary.org ) is up against a terrible deadline. If the Wild horse Sanctuary can't raise enough money by this deadline they may be losing the all the land that hundreds of Wild Horses use to live and graze on. I haven't been able to win the lottery yet, so I am desperately asking for everyone's help. I realize that money is tight but if everyone could just send $5 or help spread the word to others that could possibly help with more, it would be greatly appreciated.
If we can beat this deadline, the Wild Horse Sanctuary will be able to go on and on forever and ever. If we don't I do not even want to think about what is going to happen to all those Great Horses.

Only Foals and Horses Sanctuary.
We all love horses. We care for them, admire them and would never want to see any harm to come to them. Unfortunately, cruelty, neglect and slaughter of our beloved equines, is a fact of life. It's going on all around us all over the world. Very few people put themselves on the line to help put a stop to it and to rescue the unfortunate animals who fall victim, through no fault of their own, to cruelty and neglect. For every Robin or Rebel stood in the loose box warm and cosy tonight, there is some poor horse or pony stood hungry, thirsty, cold, wet and lonely.
Olive Lomas formed the AWLN (Animal Welfare Liaison Network) in 1989 and consequently opened the Only Foals and Horses Sanctuary in 1994. The sanctuary is based at the Redshell Stables set in 22 acres of picturesque Lancashire countryside.
The Sanctuaries aims are to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Retire. They Rescue cases of neglect and cruelty, Rehabilitate the physically or mentally damaged and Retire the aged and infirm.
The Redshell "stables" is in fact a large barn type building with loose boxes built in rows. There are 4 main "rooms" in the stables. The old farmhouse has been pressed into service as offices, a tearoom and warehouse for stock for the charity shops.
Relying entirely on public donations, the sanctuary began taking in cases of neglect and indeed rescuing young foals and aged horses from the callous "meatmen" who were buying up everything that moved at that time. The A.W.L.N. continue to campaign and petition to have the Government Guidelines adhered to at sales and auctions throughout the UK.
As word spread of Only Foals' passionate work in rescuing and providing a loving caring home for foals and horses, the more cases of extreme neglect were brought to their attention and the sanctuary began filling rapidly. It became apparent that it may be prudent to contact John Sullivan, writer and creator of the classic "Only Fools and Horses" program to ask permission to use the name for the sanctuary. John replied immediately, kindly giving not only his full blessing, but sending a cheque to help with the mounting expenses. The staff and volunteers were delighted and for a while the craze was for naming the unnamed after characters from the series!
John was the first of many celebrities to take Only Foals and Horses to their hearts. We have particularly affinity with the cast of Coronation Street, the soap opera that is a national institution! The full line up of celebrities can be found on our Celebrity page. These celebrities have not only volunteered their time in some cases but all have adopted a pony and followed their progress.
The Only Foals and Horses Sanctuary is now full to capacity with over 100 horses and ponies, besides the little menagerie of pets. Their phones are always ringing, with requests for homes or reports of neglect. The sanctuary does everything in its power to find homes or solutions to these requests. They never advise destroying the animals.
