Shadowfax - So named as I fancied myself as Gandalf, having overdosed on Tolkien. It was a 1935 Austin 10 Lichfield - my first car, bought when I was 20. No, it wasn't new! The plan was to build a Hot Rod, but by the time I'd made it legal, driven and restored it a bit , I couldn't bring myself to carve it up (how things change: qv Morris 8...). Eventually I sold it but bought it back a few months later and moved from Exeter to London with it, subsequently making numerous weekend round-trips.
The end came when the engine died quietly and I lacked the facilities to do anything about it. The new owner was intending to restore it properly, and if BUO 456 survives I'd like to see it again... |
