The Battiest 2x4xFar...
Russian Revolutions
Running the SVX a close second in my affections is the "Batmobile" - a GAZ-13 'Chaika' limousine from Back In The USSR. This little (read: "BIG") beauty has sort-of been in my possession since 1991. "Sort-of", because the original 1976 vehicle was bought back then; in 1998 it was supplemented by a 1959 example. Since then the two have been combined in a major restoration project which is just about finished, the result being more of the '59 than the '76 - fortunately the model ran from 1959 to 1980 with practically no changes!

The bad news is: after 13 years of ownership, sweat and tears my personal situation dictated that it was time for the Batmobile to move on; consequently it passed from my ownership in March 2004. The good news is that it now resides at the
in Sparkford, Somerset, England - where considerably more people can enjoy it than when it was in my hands, so all's well that ends.
