Bottles on the fence , an original design idea  taken up by the quality gardening press.

Empty wine bottles hanging from trellis catch the sunlight, and make a cheap and interesting feature in a dull corner of the garden. 

CD's also make light catching features to hang from the lower branches of trees and shrubs. Keep all those free samples that come through the post , and hang them up with some gardening string . Hang a stone from the bottom, and they will not tangle in the wind. Walking on Filey beach you can look out for small stones that have a hole in, these are perfect. On winter days the CD's, as they turn in the air, catch the low sun , keeping cats from the birds' nests, and giving you a light show worthy of Jean-Michel Jarre.
