Well done to all who survived the pretty atrocious conditions at Clarabeg on Sunday. We thought by going early we might get finished before the storm but no such luck.

GEN now have a very nice web site. Check it out for Trooperstown results and the League points table. Now when will 3Rock enter the cyber age ?

The 2000/2001 Leinster League is now under way, with two good events already having taken place, in Djouce woods and in Trooperstown. I had the rewarding experience of controlling the Trooperstown Long-O event for Mick Kellett and GEN. Despite our efforts in setting a challenging 15K Black course, however, there was only one taker for it, Brendan Delaney. He got a big cheer when he finished. Most people seemed to have enjoyed the other courses, apart from some complaints about the brambles.

Deirdre O'Neill has been selected on the Irish team for the World Cup event in Portugal. Best of luck, Deirdre, I hope you enjoy the trip and the experience.

We believe congratulations are due to Eileen Jones who has recently got married to Ciaran Young of Setanta. Although Eileen is still a paid-up member of the Club she hasn't been seen at events for a while. Come to think of it neither has Ciaran.

Ardgillan Results
Ardgillan Castle Thanks to all who came to our event in Ardgillan. Thanks to Club members who helped out, Lillian for Planning, Bernie for Organizing, Tommy, Ciara, Fearghal, Alex, Helena and Erika. With Doug, Mick, and a few others away at the Mourne Mountain Marathon we were down to the bare minimum needed, but thankfully everything went smoothly and the weather held out. Apologies for a 20 second or so discrepancy between the start and finish clocks. We'll try not to let it happen again.

More wins for Fingal juniors. The Burkes had a successful trip to Wales for Creuso2000, where Ciara won the W12B class and Cathal came second in the M14B class. By Tommy's account it was a very enjoyable event with plenty of technically demanding Orienteering.
