Scotships

This is a very interesting and largely topical Internet forum, for anyone interested in Scottish shipping. Membership is necessary to post messages but anyone can read them. Now part of the Clydesite network, although the original Scotships site continues on Yahoo.

Clydesite

Another Scottish shipping site, with several useful links to almost every Scottish Marine site in existance.

CalMac

The official website of Caledonian MacBrayne, Scotland's largest ferry operator. Lots of useful information about their services, fares, and ships.

Waverley Excursions

The world's last sea-soing paddle steamer. A useful site with lots of timetable information for WAVERLEY and BALMORAL, together with an excellent section about the paddle steamer's recent reconstruction.

Mersey & Irish Sea Shipping

An online shipping magazine, updated weekly. Though mainly about the Irish Sea, well worth looking at, as the site contains a lot of useful information.

The Red Duster

The website for Merchant Navy enthusiaists. Large site with histories of several British shipping companies. Lots of background historical information too.

Maritime Free Data

A very useful site with free access to a huge database of ship details. Almost like an online Lloyds' Register!

Suilven in heavy weather

The former Caledonian MacBrayne ferry Suilven during some pretty severe weather in New Zealand. She never had to deal with seas like THIS crossing the Minch!

I will add some more links to other sites which I find interesting here. I hope you will enjoy them too.

Please let me know of any other sites you think I should add, by e-mailing me.
