LOVE IN THE 21st CENTURY
I received an email from the producers of "Love in the 21st Century" today. Basically what he says is this: The lovely Ioan Gruffudd is indeed one of the leads in Red Production Company's 'Love in the 21st Century' (ignore all other reports, that's now the official title. Pending future changes!) The series consists of 6 half-hour separate dramas. The article in Heat makes it sound as though the plots and characters in all 6 are interlinked; they aren't. Ioan's episode is called - ready for this! - Wanking, though I can't help thinking the title will change before transmission! It's written by Paul Cornell, directed by Matthew Evans, produced by Matthew Bird, exec produced by Nicola Shindler. The series is likely to go out within the next couple of months.

"Yes I DO take my clothes off. In fact I do a little bit more than that!!"
"Ioan gruffudd plays a wanker, literally. The series which will run later this year, comprises of six half-hour dramas tackling sexual subjects in an uncompromising way including toyboys, fantasies, reproduction and threesomes. The wanking episode will feature Gruffudd as a man who can't stop masturbating over porn mags despite being the partner of Natasha Little (pictured above with Ioan). Co-stars include Charlotte Coleman whose toyboy, Oliver Milburn gets involved with two women in an episode about threesomes, and Catherine McCormack who'll do ANYTHING to have a baby". Marsha Thomason features in new Channel 4 series Love In The 21st Century - from the makers of controversial Queer As Folk - which pitches its stars into a number of compromising situations. She appears in the series of six self-contained half-hour morality tales as a woman who finds her flatmate is sleeping with her boyfriend. Also featured is Hornblower star Ioan Gruffudd, who will shatter his clean-cut image when he appears naked with just a magazine to hide his blushes in a near-the-knuckle performance. "I didn't actually see the script until I had agreed to do it," he said. Subjects tackled in the series of black comedies include sexual fantasies, a teacher who seduces a pupi and artificial insemination.
