"Solomon & Gaenor" is not to be released in the USA any time soon, nor any other of Ioan's new projects). However, it has been said that it will be featured in the following festivals in North America:
Atlantic Festival (Canada) (Halifax, Nova Scotia) September 17-25
Washington (DC) Jewish Film Festival December 2-12
Awaiting confirmation: Boston Jewish Film Festival which will be held November 4-14 1999.

Sara Sugarman is about to start shooting in Wales for her latest feature, "Pavarotti in Dad's room", starring Jonathan Pryce, Rachael Griffiths, Ioan Gruffudd and Matthew Rhys.

It has been announced that A&E will be repeating all four Horatio Hornblower films, for USA in July this year. They also announced that letters to Ioan Gruffudd, Robert Lindsay, director Andrew Grieve, or other members of the company could be posted to A&E and they will pass it on to the right place. Yet another exciting project for Ioan - "Eisteddfodd".
BBC Wales and the National Eisteddfod of Wales have announced a new broadcasting agreement for the new millennium. The deal gives BBC Wales the right to provide television, radio and online coverage of this year's National Eisteddfod of Wales, Môn, in Anglesey and of next year's festival in Llanelli.
The BBC's association with the Eisteddfod goes back to the 1930s. "The National is an important part of BBC Wales' history," says Gwynn Pritchard, Head of Broadcast (Welsh). "For example, during World War Two, when all public festivals were cancelled, the BBC was responsible for broadcasting the 'Eisteddfod of the Air'. "Down the years, the Brifwyl has remained a key ingredient in our public service remit.
As part of our Millennium celebrations, we have commissioned a major six-part series tracing the history of the Eisteddfod, written by Alan Llwyd, the Oscar-nominated author of Hedd Wyn, and narrated by Ioan Gruffudd. The series will be shown on S4C next year." This year BBC Wales will provide nearly 25 hours of coverage on S4C. There will also be full and comprehensive coverage on BBC Radio Cymru, on Wales Today, plus a highlights package on BBC One Wales and nightly programmes on Radio Wales.

Revealed today - Ioan is about to start TWO NEW films. "Another Life", and "Chopin???" (we dont know the title for Chopin yet!!) On May 26th, Ioan will be amoungst big stars like Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones for a gala in Wales, to celebrate the New Welsh Assembly - "The Biggest Concert night Wales has ever seen". Stars of rock, the stage and opera will perform in front of 60 heads of state including the Queen and Prime Minister Tony Blair. Artistic director Michael Bogdanov said: "I made a huge list of people who would represent all the aspects of Welsh cultural achievement. Each star will perform one five-minute spot in the three-and-a-half hour show." The show will take place on two specially-designed stages on the site of the new Assembly building next to Crickhowell House. Organisers are determined to fill the 10,000-strong audience with people from all over Wales. One batch of tickets will be released tomorrow from 12 arts centres spread across the nation's major towns. Others will be allocated randomly to those who phone 0891 114455 after 10am tomorrow. I received an email from the producers of "Love in the 21st Century" today - Ioan has been filming "The Wanking Episode" these last two weeks, in Manchester, where the whole series is being filmed. Ioan is only in the Wanking Episode, but for more details, goto Love in the 21st Century Page

Ioan will be appearing on the British Academy Television Awards on Sunday 9th May, to present a Bafta Award. The ceremony will be shown on British Television on BBC1 at 8pm
*SAD NEWS* 02/05/99 *JUST HEARD*
We have just heard in the UK that Ioan and Charlie have split up. This has upset me and Clare, as it has I imagine upset you too. Poor Ioan. They split on mutual terms saying it was just too hard being away from eachother for long periods of time, and decided it was best to break up. Article will appear on one of our webpages soon. :-((((

Ioan is featured in B Magazine in the JUNE edition. I found it after flicking through EVERY magazine on the shelf and this was the last one! It is out in the shops now, but back issues ARE available if you dont manage to find it.

Apparantly - At the end of the month, Ioan and Charlie will be going to Los Angeles where he will be looking around agencies. "It will be a working holiday. Things are going so well, you dont want it to stop. You want to chase it while its there", says Ioan.
