Ioan plays Fifth Officer Harold Lowe - The hero of April 14th 1912. Lowe was the only Officer to go back in the boats and pick up survivors. Lowe was himself Welsh, so Ioan speaks with his own Welsh accent in Titanic.
You may not believe it, but Ioan does not wear his own hair as Harold Lowe. Noooo - it is a wig! At the same time as filming Titanic, Ioan was also filming scenes in Wilde. The Directors of Wilde wanted Ioans hair long so James Cameron agreed that Ioan could wear a "short back and sides wig" for Lowe. "Ioan turned up on set with his wig in place and I couldn't tell it wasnt his own hair. The Wig assistants did a remarkable job".
