The Institute houses well equipped laboratories both for M.Sc. (Computer Science) course as well as B.Tech./M.Tech. courses. The library of the institute contains more than a ten thousand books and the number keeps on increasing every month.
The Department Laboratories are modern and networked offering the students and the Faculty good computing power on various platforms. Most of the computers are networked either in the Windows-98 (peer-to-peer) or Linux /SCO-UNIX networks of varying descriptions. Most of them are Pentium machines. The Institute also houses a CYBER-180 / 830 Mainframe Computer. The Department has a dial-up Internet connection, which can be accessed simultaneously at twelve terminals using a proxy server. All the required Windows and UNIX based applications and development tools are readily available for use.
Four Computer Labs have also been set up with more than 65 Pentium PCs to facilitate interactive computer learning facilities on the campus. They also serve as a learning ground for the students to sharpen and hone their IT skills. The Institute also helps the faculty members and others in acquiring any other hardware that may be acquired for research purpose.
The Institute provides a conducive environment for academic learning through its library, which houses a rich collection of about 10000 books, technical journals, thesis etc. in Computer Science, Electronics and other thrust areas of Science and Technology. The library subscribes to a number of ACM periodicals, IEEE transactions and other magazines.
Normally the library services are available during 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. on all working days except on Sundays and holidays.
To answer the call of the times, University of Allahabad decided to open the Central Internet Access Facility (CIAF). This facility is located in J.K.Institute Annexe Building. The basic aim of this facility is to make use and availability of the Internet accessible to the Teachers, Students and Staff Members of the University of Allahabad.
The institute houses well equipped Electronics and Fibre-Optics laboratories and Electrical, Mechanical and Drawing workshops containing highly sophisticated equipment for students of B.Tech. and M.Tech.
