Maryport Archery Club AGM 2001 Minutes
28/10/01 Netherhall Rugby Club 2pm
Present: Paul Bartlett, Garry Wilkinson, Jackie Wilkinson, Sandra Vives Lynch, Paula Atkin, Andrew Chappell, John Camithers, Peter Bowker
Apologies: Tom Cameron
MATTERS ARISING
- Indoor Facilities – Paul has requested 6-8pm Tuesdays at the College but they are not giving out slots yet. There is an issue over whether they should ask us to pay – which they shouldn’t.
- Lost Arrows – he whole field has been checked with a metal detector. One arrow of Sandras and two of John Bell’s are still lost. Arrows have been found which we did not know about. Paul says persons unknown have been shooting here. Sandra asked about membership cards – Paul says everyone needs a Rugby Club Card.
OFFICERS REPORTS
Chairmans Report – One new member from having a go at Oasis and found the club through the library. Two other new members so we are not declining. Bg aim is to sort out the indoor venue. WCC hall is four badminton courts long. Could hold an indoor shoot there. Been a funny year with foot and mouth, but have kept shooting here.
Secretarys Report – 10 members no juniors. Quiet year not many places to go to. Hope next year will be better. We did a demonstration event at Bridekirk school. Only one person expressed an interest.
Treasurers Report – Total Income £450 from membership of which £270 goes to GNAS etc. Five targets bought at a cost of £370. Net loss £210 but we have the good targets. Keep shooting the old ones first. No other income because no shoot this year. Haven’t paid the Rugby Club yet.
Records Officer – Peter now has the records from Zoe but no disc yet.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Chairman Paul Bartlett
Secretary Jackie Wilkinson
Treasurer Garry Wilkinson
Records Officer Paula Atkin
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
- Club Shoots – Second weekend in July as usual. Team American. If we do a clout we will have it as a separate event. Try August Bank holiday weekend. Also want to hold an equipment day for members on last Sunday in November.
- Suggestion from Tom to buy a couple of field bosses from Sellafield to use indoors. Paul says the college should buy their own targets. He will look into it.
- Discussion on the possibility of buying an iso-freight container.
- Paul has foam so we may be able to make some targets.
- Also suggested by Tom – us to hold a shoot at Wyttop. Can’t consider this at all with the current foot and mouth situation.
- Sandra proposed that the club should have a web site. She will produce one and is willing to do one for the county too.
- Sandra also asked if we could have a notice board for the club inside the shed. Could be used to put up information about shoots or scores for the records officer. Paul will put one up.
- Sandra asked whether we could participate in postal shoots – indoor and frostbite, county and or national.
- Sandra asked about getting a small grant towards the purchases of equipment for the club. She will look into it. Paul says there is the Neighbourhood forum which gives grants.
Meeting Closed 3:35pm
