Scottish hillwalking club

The Norwest Sgurramblers are a nationwide group of mountain walking enthusiasts, the club having been in existence since 1975.

NORWEST:- A large number but not all of our meets take place in the northwest of Scotland where the terrain is rugged and the ascents challenging.
Recent meets have included the isle of skye, the isle of Arran, and Wester Ross.

SGURRAMBLERS:- The word Sgurr, gaelic for sharp rocky peak, is used frequently to describe the mountains in this area , which offer scope for mountain scrambling as well as more relaxed 'sgurrambling'.

We have a  meets programme  covering the whole year, including an AGM south of the border, and for the last few years a trip to the European Alps, trekking between huts  has been a regular feature of the meets programme . Accommodation is normally  in youth hostels and bunk houses, and transport is shared to keep costs to a minimum.

Members include keen mountain walkers from a varied background and interests including Munro  and even Corbett bagging. Our membership  has a wide geographical spread from the south of England to Scotland.

The annual subscription is currently £3.00 per annum which includes the cost of a  quarterly newsletter
