We had a lovely festive atmosphere for our Christmas Knock Out. Alan Lewis was our guest judge and he chose the following as his class winners:-

Puppy Walk: Claire Kirk, handling John Mort's HAKMET ANKH LIFE FORCE ('Isis'), Yearling: Lynne Newton, handling SHIMALMA CACTUS JACK ('Jack'), Adult Dog: Janice Matthews, handling CLOUDSIDE FIRESTORM AT SHURMA ('Everton'), Adult Bitch: Clair Dowd, handling Cathy Barnes' ARAKI SMASHING PUMPKINS ('Izzie'), Veteran: Ian Ager, handling TEJAS MOLINA ('Chelsea'), Junior Handling Jay Dowse (aged 12), handling John Mort's MOLRIQ PENNY LANE('Penny').

This year, the sausage roll race was won by John Mort's MOLRIQ CALYPSO, closely followed by Cathy Barnes' Whippet, who demonstrated once again that you don't have to be big to eat quickly! We all enjoyed an excellent evening and we would again like to thank everyone who brought raffle prizes and food for the buffet.

Successes for former 'pupils' this year included litter brother and sisters Carmel and Pete Barnett's CH CLOUDSIDE THE RINGMASTER (RCC), Wendell Moore's CH CLOUDSIDE BLACK MARAUDER (2CC's and his title) and CLOUDSIDE LICORICE 'N' LACE (RCC). Also their Dad, CH SAXONMILL RUM TUM TIGGER (5CC's), owned by Roberta Hall, who also had success with CH SAXONMILL CURRANT BUN (1CC, 2RCCs and his title) and KARNAK JEERA AT SAXONMILL (1CC). Other successful ex-pupils included Reg and Maggie Morton's CH IZMARS NOW OR NEVER (1CC), John Mort's MOLROQ McARTHOR PARK (RCC), Alan and Molly Lewis' DRISHAUN DJUDAS (RCC), Barry Peach's SUMAHARI STARS IN YOUR EYES (RCC) and Lynda and John Race's KASKARAK RICARCHET (RCC). All of this, plus the usual Crufts qualifiers, BOB's, BIS's and BPIS's. Well done to all of them!

Early next year we will hold an educational event on the theme of Show Handling.

We are a small, friendly Club catering exclusively for Afghan Hounds and there are always plenty of people on hand to offer advice and encouragement to anyone who needs it. Why not give us a try?

The next training will be on Thursday 3 February 2000 commencing at 8.00 pm.
