Welcome to The Cactus Photo Gallery

The Cactus Photo Gallery provides a list of species in common usage in the Family Cactaceae , arranged in alphabetical order - just select a letter from the list on the left side of the screen.  Where available, images of different species, held on participating websites, have been linked so that eventually the Cactus Photo Gallery can provide a comprehensive picture reference to assist with the identification of your plants.

You can join the project by sending me details of images that you have on your website by following some simple instructions.

You can create your own Photo Album with facilities such as PhotoPoint, to upload, store and present your cactus photographs for viewing by others - an excellent facility, and it is free!

One plea: Discussions between any number of dedicated Cactophiles will produce at least the same number of opinions about the 'correct' naming of plants.  The Cactus Photo Gallery follows a 'lumpers' approach, purely to keep the number of species at this stage to manageable proportions and can be extended at a future date.  I am reluctant to enter into private taxonomic discussions and suggest that the on-line discussion forum presented by cacti_etc is used for this purpose.
