  Lincoln Ringing Course 2008

 JOINT SERVICE RINGING COURSE

 LINCOLN 2008

          This year’s course will be run on a similar theme to last year. It will however be during the week hopefully making the on campus facilities available. The course will start on the morning of Wednesday 16^th July with the usual  round of theory and discussion.  We will then have ringing practice on the Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and Friday morning. I would also like to finish with some quarter peals on the Friday afternoon . I intend to run two groups as last year, a doubles/minor group and a triples/major group.

The accommodation at Lincoln has been confirmed, starting Tuesday 15^th through to Friday 18^th July, the wait due to availability of new accommodation and I have asked for accommodation for thirty people and can also accept non residents. As last year all facilities will be available and as mentioned the accommodation is new, comfortable, is central to Lincoln and has facilities and nearby shops. I am also looking into organising evening social events.. There is the possibility of double en-suite rooms for couples with the chance of a reduced rate, I am still negotiating. I also believe there will be Wireless internet access and the accommodation is closer to parking facilities but further from food, is this not good ?

Now to the cost. It will be £29 per person per night with the possibility of discount for sharing couples.  Applicants will not be charged if they cancel up to one week before the course, after this the full charge will be levied. Also as we are mid-week university cafe facilities should be available and I have booked the ‘Shed’ for a group dinner on the Wednesday.  This is an on-campus pub with basic food and cheapish drink and overlooks the Brayford marina in Lincoln. Because of the lee-way given by the University I can also extend the latest application date to 20^th June, however I will be on the Scottish tour in mid June. Hope this clears up any loose ends.
