Plot/Comments:
Self-styled Original Fat-Slapper, Linda, and her best mate/flatmate, camper-than-thou Tom, do the Green Card plotline.
Tom prepares to marry butch American lesbian Gloria so she can legally stay in Britain with her lover: the wedding gown is designed by Degsy (Couturist-to-drag-
Queens and Tom's unrequited love); trannies and small costumed dogs attend; Linda feels rejected by Tom and lusted after by escapees from the island of Lesbos...until she meets Vince (Ronan Vibert): charming but ultra-sleazy low-rent producer of Adult Entertainment who sees Linda  as 'the epitome of sleaze and vulgarity'.
Gimme Gimme Gimme is a broad (some critics say crude) sit-com based around the abusive exploits of a complete tart who has been repeatedly hit with the ugly-stick, and her ultra-camp best friend.
US viewers will find little in common between this and the rather respectable Will & Grace. Gimme revels in its vulgarity and tastelessness -- no joke is too base to broadcast -- and it's a great example of
low-rent British humour: over-the-top characters, bodily-functions and supreme farce
As ever, Kathy Burke is a complete goddess: one of the best female character
actors around at the moment, but criminally underused in dramatic work (with the
exception of her Cannes-winning Nil By Mouth).

VIBERTOGRAPHY

Ronan content:
This is a personal Vibertology favourite, as it's one of the rare
occasions where we get to see a relatively natural face, despite the 80s-style clothes (chunky gold chains and bleached Levis/bootlace tie and shiny grey high-waisted trousers).
We like.

Vince's accent is somewhere between Boston working class (Bahstaahn) and Jack Nicholson.
As a classically-trained actor, it's easy to forget what good comic timing he has (Jeeves & Wooster is another great example). In Gimme, he is all eyebrows, flared nostrils and manic grins -- a complete change of pace from the typical cynical upper-class characters that Ronan usually plays.

Typical Ronan Character Quotes:
  • "Did you get the Polaroids of Cindy  with the Donkey?"
  • "Hi , you must be Linda -- great jugs"
