Malaysia
Round 2 Sepang Review Everyone seems to love the new qualifying, but here at Sepang
everyone’s eyes will be on the temperature gauge. With hot humid conditions, the
Malaysian GP is hard on drivers and engines. Alonso is way don the field with heavy fuel leaving teammate
Fisichella in poll to make the most of the Renault lightning fast start. McLaren are also likely to be heavy on fuel and look good for
podium places With a wider track and lots of fast straights followed by
tight twisting sections Turns 1 and 2 are the problem areas on lap one. Rain is
always never far a way and when it pours it pours. Still not enough miles done
by any team to pick out a clear winner. Our Prediction is: 1st :
Alonso 2nd : Räikkönen 3rd
: Button 5 5 Track Facts Designed
by Hermann Tilke, Sepang is one of the new breed of technical circuits built
to take Formula One into the 21st Century. The combination of long
high-speed straights followed tight twisting complexes make the track very
difficult for teams to set up the cars. Compromise is the name of the game
and this is likely to be compounded by the new rules. The width of the track
makes overtaking a reality. The facilities and in particular the magnificent
grandstands have set the standard for all new F1 venues. Track Length 5.54km/3.4 miles. Race
distance 56 Laps
