Hair: A Tribal Rock Musical

Hair: A threadlike structure growing from mamalian skin. Each hair grows from a pit-shaped follicle-embedded in the second layer of skin, the dermis. It consists of dead cells impregnated with the protein keratin.

There are about a million hairs on the average person's head. Each grows at the rate of 5-10 mm per month, lengthening for about three years before being replaced by a new one.

Barber Shop: In music, a style of unaccompanied close-harmony singing of sentimental ballads, revived in the US during the 19^th Century. Traditionally sung by four male voices, since the 1970's it has developed as a style of a cappella choral singing for both male and female voices.

Barbershop originated in 17^th-century European barber's shops, which offered dental and medical services. Waiting customers were provided with a cittern or guitar by managements aware of the benefits of music to those undergoing pain.
