The 1st Staindrop Scout Troop is THE most popular youth organisation in Teesdale.  Based in the village of Staindrop, ten miles west of Darlington, over thirty five lads (including the Venture helpers) regularly attend the Sunday night meetings in the Scout Hut.  The meetings run from 6.30 till 8.30pm - but check the programme first as we are out more than in.

As well as the weekly meetings, activities such as canoeing, sailing, rafting, abseiling, mountain biking, caving, microlighting, hiking and many more are undertaken.

At present all we can take is 24 Scouts - and guess what??  Correct, we have 24!  We are running a waiting list for all those who want to join who have not been in Cubs, but those in Cub Scouts can join straight away.  If you have not been in Cubs - don't panic - I am sure we would be able to take you but it may take a few months for a place to become available.  Places become available about every six months when the 15 year olds move up to the Venture Scout Section.

Just click on the Scout to go to this months programme and to read the report on last months.  Click here for photos of our activities.

If you want to take a look at what we have been doing check out these previous programmes - keep them under your hat!!
