Dublin is the capital of Ireland and it is at least 1000 years old. Dublin Culture has various influences including Vikings and more. Since 1995 Dublin has experienced an incredible economic boom which has been called the Celtic Tiger.

Where is the Best place to see Dublin Culture?

Dublin Trinity CollegeThe first port of call should be Trinity College, you definitely have to see the Book of Kells. Next stop is the National Gallery and view excellent art from Dublin and around Ireland.

For bars and pubs, then Temple Bar is the place to visit. It is a bustling place and has some of the best Dublin Restaurant. The best place to drink Guinness if you have the time is to visit the Guinness Factory.

Dublin Theatre and Cinemas

There are many theatres in Dublin. These include the Gaiety Theatre, the Olympia, Abbey Theatre and Gate Theatre.

If you want to enjoy a film, there are many cinemas in the city centre such as the Savoy on O'Connell Street and in the suburbs such as in Liffey Valley, Blanchardstown, Tallaght, Stillorgan, Dun Laoghaire and many more. A really good cinema in the city centre is the Screen Cinema. It shows non-main stream films and they are all of top quality. It is located on the north side of Trinity College. Also worth visiting is the IFC (Irish Film Centre) which is located in Temple Bar.

Markets

There is a market in temple bar every Saturday.

If you are on the north side of the river near the Jervis Shopping Centre, you can find Moore Street where you will find the famous street market. Yes, it still exists and is a great place to buy your fruit and vegetables. This is open weeks days and on Saturday.

There is a great market in Blackrock. To get there you need to catch the DART train. It is a really nice market and has a nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend it.

Shopping Malls

Modern Shopping Malls are part of modern culture. In the suburbs you can visit the various shopping malls at Lifey Valley, Tallaght Shopping Centre, Blanchards Town, Dun Laoighaire, Dundrum and others. They contain a variety of shops and some have large cinema complexes.

Irish Modern Music

Irish modern music has many great artists including U2, Boyzone (Ronan Keating - the lead singer), the Corrs, the Pogues, Enya, Daniel O'Donell, Westlife, Paul Brady, Mary Black, Six and more. They are all modern influences. Also the Eurovision has been hosted here many times.

As you can see, Dublin Culture is varied and very interesting.
