'Quakers Friars'
Quakers Friars is the main registry office of Bristol situated just behind Penn St , Broadmead, which is the main shopping area of Bristol. They rely on the place of the event, so do not use the 'Civil Index' reference number. A few records were lost due to bombing during the war, please see list below.
They normally will get you the copy of the certificate the same day, if you apply before lunch time , approx 12.30pm. You will have to fill out a form for the certificate, so allow time, if you have a few certificates you require.

You should note ,that, sadly the whole of the St Philip & Jacob birth registers were destroyed but there are copies at the ONS.
