SPANISH ROYAL AIRCRAFT
The Boeing 707, 45-10 of the Spanish Air Force has been specially fitted out as luxury transport
for the Spanish Royal Family.It also has a secondary role in an emergency as a fighter in-flight
refuelling aircraft and has wing tip pods for this purpose.Both King Juan Carlos and Prince
Felipe are qualified pilots having trained at the San Javier airbase,Murcia.The ageing B707 s
are due to be replaced by A310 aircraft.On occasions the Royal Family use Dassault Falcons.
MILITARY
On 26 June 2002 the Spanish Air Force Display Team,"PATRULLA AGUILA",(Eagle Patrol)
flew along the runway and surprisingly did some aerobatics over the airfield before departing to their
base at San Javier.They fly CASA C101 AVIOJETS and perform displays all over the world.
