Policies for Mid Bedfordshire

Putting Mid-Bedfordshire First, and Party politics second !

1) Protecting rural life, against urbanisation and the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes sprawl.
2) Improving infrastructure, roads, public transport, train and buses- reigning in future development of Stansted and Luton airports. Widening M1 J14 to J9, with "pool car" lanes.
3) Affordable housing, new-build in brown belt, ensuring affordable housing for locals that grew up in the area.

4) Bypassing Woburn, Ridgmont, and other rat-run villages.
5) Protecting local jobs, boosting local economy, and securing inward investment- preventing a "Rover" on our door step. Keeping local businesses and attracting new ones- e.g. Nissan, GM, working with manufacturers, and the growing service sector.

6) Providing best in class local education, colleges and universities, at the fore-front nationally and internationally- working with the private sector.
7) Giving local schools the resources and facilities to deliver the best education they can, and healthy nutritional meals.

8) Free, fast local access to doctors, nurses, hospitals, dentists, opticians, and partnership with the private sector.
9) Working as communities to fight crime, integration of new arrivals and the "ghetto"-ised and marginalised.
10) More bobbies on the beat, supported by Community Support Officers. Increased recruitment and retention.
