Welcome to my website, in which I will take you through my voyage and hobby of collecting vintage and modern fountain pens.

What this site contains

Recent Improvements

bulletIn this site you will see general information about fountain pens, their construction, manufacturers history, and also get to see some of the  pens that I have in my own collection.

There is also a page full of links that I have found useful.

bulletThe site has now more information in it around a number of key themes, with more to come in the following weeks.

I have re-organised and added to my fountain pen collection pages.  Still more pages will be added soon.

Please also look at my pen musing page for lots of interest around pens, inks and paper!

Also check out the new pen manufacturers history pages on Esterbrook, Mabie-Todd Swan, Onoto and Mont Blanc.

ABOUT ME

fountain pens case storing pens dAlthough my handwriting cannot be described as very neat, or even worthy of reading sometimes, the use of a good fountain pen seems to improve my written presentation on the page no end.

I dallied some years ago with an Osmiroid calligraphy pen with interchangeable nibs. It gave me immeasurable pleasure in trying to master both the pen, and the look of the script on the project I was completing at the time.

I lost that enjoyment up until last year, when I purchased a Parker 21 pen through eBay. It was supposed to be a present for my mother in law, however I liked it so much that I kept it for myself. Bea later got a Mont Blanc Generations fountain pen instead!

Since than I have been an avid devotee of the numerous excellent websites on fountain pens, and have picked up on some hard earned lessons of my own.

THE SITE

Parker 51 pen nib and section dWithin this site you will hopefully see the information about fountain pens, none of which is new or even original, but details gained from other sources which I have found useful to be aware of when collecting. I would like to personally thank these sources, including Richard Binder, Rick Conner, The Pen Museum, and others too numerous to mention.  I have also used images off the internet to illustrate my site and provide a more visual aspect to the pages.  I apologise if this offends anyone and will willingly acknowledge source material if requested.

I am still continuing to learn about the variety and beauty of fountain pens, both vintage and modern, and will be continued to be fascinated by them.

The site will inevitably grow over time, however I want to make sure that it provides a useful reference point for people who are just ‘happy amateurs’ at collecting fountain pens.

Please enjoy my site, and sign my guestbook, as comments (constructive please) are always gratefully received!
