Ex F88 HMS Broadsword - Now F46
Greenhalgh of the Brazilian Navy
HMS Broadsword (F88) was the first of four of the Batch I Type 22
Anti- submarine Frigates.
She was laid down at Yarrow shipbuilders in Glasgow in Feb 75, launched
in May 76 and commisioned in May 79.
Based in Plymouth (Devon) she served in the Royal Navy for 16 years
seeing service in the Falklands Conflict and in The Persian Gulf.
Broadsword, along with her sister ships Brilliant, Brazen and Battleaxe
were all sold to the Brazillian Navy from 1995 onwards
