Floaters
When its a hot sunny day, the sun is beating down on you and the nats are biteing you every few minutes, and you cant seem to get a bite no matter what you try, there can be nothing more satisfying than catching a carp off the top.

Dog Biscuits
The easiest way to catch a carp off the top is to use a dog biscuit attatched to the hook via a pellet band. The dog biscuit will stay on the hook for a long time and will almost double in size after soaking up water. You can also cast the dog biscuits as hard as you like without worring about it coming off the hook. the only down side to useing dog biscuits is that if you are fishing at range a dog biscuit can be hard to see.

Bread Crust
Another top bait to use on the top is bread crust. It is extremely visual bait for the carp who just dont seem to be able to resist it. You can completely bury the hook in the crust which is great because the carp cannot see the shimmering of the hook in the sun light. The only down side to using bread is you can only cast it out once as it gets to soggy to cast out a second time. Another thing is that you cant cast bread out to far as it will easily fly off the hook.

IMPORTANT REMEMBER ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON FLOATING BAIT AS DUCKS CAN TAKE A LIKING TO THEM TOO.

Tiger Nut Bollies
On the 19th of April, i brought a bag of the new Tiger nut bollies from Dynamite Baits. I just had to try out this new bait before any one else had the chance on one of my local lakes. I decided to have a short session at Blackfords Lake, West Midlands. I arived at the lake around 5:30pm and after quicklly setting up and casting my rods out towards the small island in the middle of the pool, i sat back and started to wonder if i would  catch anything on the new bait. I didnt have much time to wonder as within 20 minutes of my baits being in the water, my right hand rod was screaming away, the line was tearing off like a train and the bobbin was going up and down faster than west brom in the premiership. I struck in to what felt like a good fish, it put a good bend in my Fox Warrior rod. After a scrappy fight a common carp of around 10lb was in the net. I checked the beautifully formed fish for any injurys, then returned it to the water safely. I finished the session at 2:30am with another 3 fish under my belt, the biggest being around 15lb. I was really impressed with the tiger nut bollies and will make sure there is a good suply of them in my bag from now on. The shelflife and frozen tiger nut bollies come in a range of sizes inclueding 10, 15, 18 and 20mm. Also available are 15, 18, and 20mm Pop Ups and a special Tiger Nut liquid Attractant. These baits are set to bag fish on many lakes, so make sure you get yours before they sell out.
