Hi,
Things are not too bad at the moment. I've not been following my own advice regarding relaxing and eating properly and I've paid the price with a few mild symptoms creeping back in. I've promised myself that I'll get 'back on the wagon' this week and do all the right things ! :)
I thought it might be nice for you to see some of the emails that I get from peolple from time to time, as it can be very comforting to know that you are not the only person in the world suffering with this condition. I have attached arecent email below. I do not, nor will I ever, include any contact details or individual names in this excerpt :

I've just found your site and am amazed that your feelings and symptoms
mirror mine exactly.They're identical.
I've had panic attacks for almost 13 yar now but only on and off.I can
get rid of them for months and months and then they come back for no apparent
reason.I get them when I go out and also just in the house as I'm constantly
worrying as soon as I wake up that I might have a heart attack today. Its
extremely frustrating that I can't keep control over my own body.I've had
the symptoms again for 2 weeks now and am getting to the stage of being
depressed and constantly shaking and fearful.I know that the symptoms will
disappear eventually because they always do but at the time I think they
never will.I've read endless publications on panic and do fully understand
how they work but can't seem to get a grip on them this time.Sometimes
I can nip the symptoms in the bud so to speak and they disapper straight
away.
However,I'm so glad I saw your website and its the first one thats seemed
to me that its a real person talking about their panic and not a doctor
etc.
Thanks so much for the information and I'm so glad you're feeling so well.

Here's a copy of an email that I received back in January that I found fascinating. It talks about potentially controlling anxiety symptoms through improved/altered nutrition and the use of nutritional supplements.
I have spent some time looking in to this area and it seems to hold great promise.
I have bought a couple of books by Patrick Holford and have modified my diet as suggested in the books. I have to say that I have noticed quite an improvement in my symptoms. My symptoms are no longer too bad anyway, but I don't seem to suffer with the sudden unexplained attacks that kept coming out of the blue periodically.
Have a read of the email below and maybe do some of your own research in to this area.
Here are some useful additional useful links :

Hi Nigel,
Hope you are well, I have read your story with great interest as I too have experienced anxiety and panic attacks. In fact my story is very similar to yours in many ways. I have suffered for years (approx 5) since I was 21, it started with the odd panic attack from time to but then progressed into something much more serious. At the time there were a lot of stresses in my life that seemed to contribute to my condition which soon engulfed me into a permanent state of anxiety. I felt Stressed all of the time, even waking up in the morning, I would lay there feeling highly strung, I hadn't even got out of bed!!
As you did, I went to see my GP then a Psychologist, but I wasn't convinced that the treatment offered was going to do me any good. I was still very confused by my situation.
However, I felt seeing someone about the problem made me feel a whole lot better.
Because I wasn't convinced that the treatment offered by the GP was going to help me (strong anti-depressant tablets)and all other recommendations made by the Psychologist, although helpful didn't seemed to affecting the root cause of my symptoms, I decided to look into alternatives.
First, I tried Chinese medicine and acupuncture - personally this didn't really help me, although it may be more successful for others. Then one day when searching on Amazon.co.uk for some literature on Anxiety and Panic, I came across some books written by Patrick Holford. Patrick Holford is a very well known Nutritionist and author and has written many health titles on various subjects. I never thought Nutrition itself could help my almost desperate situation (I'd previously had 5 weeks off work for recovery). I decided to do some research.
It soon become apparent that there maybe an underlying 'physical' imbalance which maybe affecting me and causing the generalised anxiety and panic disorder I have for so long suffered with. I was convinced that I needed to see a Nutritionist and arranged a consultation through Patrick Holford's website.
I attended the consultation and was soon diagnosed with a Blood sugar imbalance among other problems such as digestive issues. These were all known to cause or contribute to the symptoms of Panic and anxiety. It seemed over the years my personal and professional life was way too stressful which in turn started the decline of my health both physically and mentally. My natural reserves which would have normally kept me afloat were being depleted by the day. The constant release of adrenaline and insulin into the blood eventually caused the Blood sugar imbalance. The result of this was an almost constant feeling of anxiety and panic.
I personally would recommend anyone with anxiety or depression or any other health problems for that matter to seriously look into Nutrition.
I have been taking natural supplements (multi-vitamins and nutrients) for some time now, plus eating the right foods to control my sugar imbalance and I feel so much better. Regular exercise and a less stressful lifestyle are also required. The problem should be reversible although each case is different and personal to that individual.
I'm so glad I have found the root cause of the problem; GP's tend to miss this bit out sometimes. They are quick to offer drugs and not alternative medicine. In some cases the drugs just conceal the illness and don't fix it!
Hello all,
Its quite difficult to keep updating the web site, so I thought that I'd add a 'Web Log' or 'Blog' to the site, as its a little easier to update.
I intend to re-vamp the site in the near future, but in the mean time, I'll be using the blog to keep you up to date.
Bye for now.
