If you are considering Grimes Graves as a coven day out it wont last long.

with only twp things to look at it was a bit of a let down but we still enjoyed it.

On a very wet and windy day we had organized for the last coven to go to grimes graves. there was a very small living history part to the site shown in the top left picture. And when I say small what you see was what you get.

Grimes Graves is an area of Neolithic flint mines in Suffolk, England, comprising more than 300 mine shafts and galleries. the mounds seen in the pictures are there because of the mines being dug.

Some of the coven members enjoying the wonderful weather.
Out side the Information center.

The information center did have some interesting artifacts and some hand made tools which may have been used by Neolithic people. it also should the flint fragments they would have been mining and the tools they used to mine them. unbelievable they used deer antlers as picks to dig out the flint.

This picture show how they dug out tunnels to get as much flint from one mine as possible.

the picture had to be taken through bars which stop you getting very close to anything.

Whilst down there we did find something carved into the stone, but we couldn't be sure what it said. Our first impressions was they maybe runes, but it was dark an difficult to tell. if anyone know anything about the text feel free to leave a post with any information you have

Another picture of john enjoying this sun drenched day, think its time to retreat to the pub.
With all the rain and dullness its nice to see a  gorgeous ray of light, who is soon to be my wife, Woo Hoo for me.
