Our aim is to promote golf as both a competitive sport, and as a social pastime, and we are open to all members of the Brigade, uniformed and non-uniformed, past and present. We are affiliated to the Fire Services Sports and Athletics Association (FSSAA), via the Avon FB Sports Association.

Visiting golfers to our area (Bristol, Bath, Weston-Super-Mare), from other emergency services, are welcome to contact the Secretary (see below), for advice on local courses, or perhaps to arrange a match.

We enter teams and individuals in National and Regional events, play matches against teams from other Brigades and emergency services, hold our own annual Championship, plus various social golf events, notably our annual Turkey Trot just before Christmas.

Over the last few years, we have had 6 players, (Nick Weedon (Kingswood), Ashley Wright (Weston-super-Mare), Steve Mankowski (Patchway), Mick Keepin (Bedminster), John Cowley (HQ), and Brian Lindsay (Speedwell)) represent England in international events, and had Mike Trump (Portishead) pick up 2nd place individual prize at the Sheriffs Cup, the British Fire Services premier event.
