Backwell Tennis Club is a well established club
with four all weather courts and a clubhouse. Two courts have lights.
Backwell is situated about 7 miles from Bristol
on the A370. The club itself is on West Town Road at the top of the hill
by Backwell Athletic Football club.
The club takes part in the North Somerset and
Avon Winter and Summer Leagues.
Coaching sessions are held for both adults and
juniors by our Coach, John Doe.
Current Membership
Fees
Family = £220
This membership is for 2 adults and any number
of children. The categories of individual membership will be agreed at
the time of application.
Full = £100
No restrictions on play except when other
sessions have priority.
Weekday = £57.50
For all those wishing to play on weekdays
up to 6pm and on weekends after 5pm.
Student = £42
Full members, but who are still in full time
education.
Restricted Student
= £37.50
Student members with the restriction that
they cannot play on Tuesday evenings or Saturday afternoons (in the summer
only).
Junior = £32
Any person under 18 who has not graduated
to Student or Restricted Student membership.
Key to the club courts and club house - £5
deposit to be refunded on return of the key.
The subscription year runs from 1 April to
30 March. Subscriptions are payable by 30th April. Thereafter all unpaid
subscriptions are increased by £10.00.
NEW MEMBERS
1. The Club is open to new members. Membership
application forms are available on the Club notice board or from the Membership
Secretary (see Contacts
for more details.)
2. The Membership Secretary will acknowledge all
applications. Membership will be confirmed at the next full committee meeting,
after which a copy of the Club Handbook will be forwarded together with
a key if requested.
3. Prospective members are hoped to have achieved
a reasonable playing standard. However they are always welcome to obtain
advice and coaching from John Doe, our Coach.
