The Manor 2005 Invitation Event

There was a full turnout for this year's winter event which was held at the delightful Manor venue. Tactics were discussed in depth and all baits chosen before the pegs were drawn. Most of the contestants opted for the very popular crab to start with, a wise choice as this has not yet been banned from the venue.

Both Brian and Mark drew the end pegs with Rob drawing the boss swim between Ilene and Mandy. The action was steady throughout the first session with most contestants finishing well, the session was however, marred by the lack of bread, something which the organisers tried to withhold from the event.

The second session started with a flurry, Brian had a very large salmon to put him in a good lead with Skipper following closely behind with a nice, rather rare, 2 pounder, taken with English mustard.

The final session was whittled down to just two contestants, Tony and Brian. Both started off at a fast pace matching bite for bite, but it was Tony who lasted to the all-in, finishing just ahead of Brian.

After the event, all the contestants gathered for the weigh in, the day was discussed in detail, Skipper dealt with the prize money and team photographs were taken.
