Match Report(by Tim Channon, North Wales Weekly Newspapers):

Vauxhall Masterfit Retailers Welsh Premier visitors Llanelli arrived late at Farrar Road and never got going on the pitch as Bangor ran them ragged.

The home fans could hardly have asked for a better start to the new Welsh Premier campaign as they saw their side completely outclass the opponents, striker Paul Roberts slam in a hat-trick and Les Davies bag an early contender for goal of the season.

City underlined their superiority with three goals in each half the first one arriving on 20 minutes, young midfielder Owain Jones, who is hoping for an injury-free season, slotting the ball home from eight yards.

Peter Davenport's men continued to dominate but had to wait until the stroke of half-time before for their next reward.

But it was worth the wait with Roberts making a telling contribution with two goals in as many minutes.

The first came from the penalty spot after Llanelli defender Nicky Phillips upended Frank Mottram and the former Wrexham man then rounded off a move initiated by Clayton Blackmore.

Thoughts of the 8-1 drubbing back in the 2002-03, when Marc Lloyd Williams bagged a double hat-trick, must have played on Llanelli's minds during the break and they were right to be concerned.

Although Bangor only managed three more goals the gulf in class was painfully obvious.

Roberts completed his hat-trick on 74 minutes before Davies joined him on the scoresheet two minutes later.

Blackmore made ground down the flank and delivered a pinpoint ball to the youngster on the edge of the area.

Davies, who scored with several spectacular strikes for the Citizens in his debut season, topped the lot with a stunning half volley past keeper Pritchard.

And Mottram rounded off a fine display when he converted Chris Short's cross in the dying moments.
